Tulsi Honey Lassi was more of an experiment for me for making Lassi herbal and healthy. Lassi is a refreshing drink made using fresh curd. Lassi has always been a part of our meals and since it can be made in an array of flavors, it shows up on my breakfast table very frequently.
Ranging from Mango Lassi, Chiko lassi, Kesar Elaichi Lassi to many other unique flavors, this drink is very versatile when it comes to flavoring. Now that the kiddo is growing up and can manage the blender on his own, Lassi is the very first drink I am teaching him to make.
This time, I flavored it with Tulsi and Honey and the result was too good. The burst of flavors from Tulsi and earthy sweetness from honey goes very well together and makes for a great combination.
Ayurveda considers tulsi to be the "elixir of life". Tulsi is a medicinal plant that helps in curing malaria, common cold, inflammation, heart diseases et al. It also works as an anti-oxidant and bolsters immunity.
I make sure to make my family eat tulsi often and even I eat fresh tulsi leaves every morning. Apart from that, I keep on using tulsi in as many recipes as I can, you must try doing the same.
This afternoon, make a jar of fresh, creamy Tulsi Honey Lassi and savour it without a worry of the world! There is also a video recipe to make it in this post.
