Ingredients

  • 1 cup Urad Dal
  • 2 and 1/2 cup Water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste

For tempering

  • 4 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/2 cup Onion Thinly sliced
  • 2 Green chilli Slit into halves
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder

Instructions

  1. Wash the dal and add it in a pressure cooker along with water, salt, turmeric powder and ginger paste.
  2. Pressure cook for one whistle on high heat and then reduce the fame to low heat and cook till another whistle.
  3. Remove the cooker from heat and let the pressure release.
  4. Heat ghee in a pan.
  5. Add onion and fry till golden brown.
  6. Add green chilli and fry for a few more seconds.
  7. Switch off the heat and add the red chilli powder.
  8. Immediately pour the tadka over the cooked dal.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with Phulka and Dry Sabzi.
