Phalse Tamatar ka Shorba is a delicious soup or rasam kind of a drink made with tart Indian berries Phalse or Phalsa. Here is how to make Phalsa Soup or Phalse ka Shorba.

Phalse brings back a lot of memories. We had a huge garden in my Nani's house and there was a bush of Phalse in the farthest corner which no one else bothered about. When rain poured, us kids would know it was time to go and collect the tart berries.
A sprinkle of black salt was good enough to balance the tartness and we would spend hours popping in one berry after the other in our mouth which would become purple after a few hours of munching.

After we shifted city, I never got around Phalse until I got married and came to Delhi. The berry is still available in Delhi and although it comes for a very short time, I make sure I get me share delivered to me in Bangalore some how.
This time it's coming to me Via Mumbai. After munching on a few, I have made the rest into a tangy Rasam kind of Phalse Tamatar ka Shorba . The tanginess from Phalse came out very well in the recipe. Here is how to make it.
