We did a 16 days trip to Rajasthan visiting Pushkar, Ajmer, Mandawa, Nawalgarh, Dundlod, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur & Jaipur. We had hired a taxi from Jaipur and would be covering these destinations one by one. Keep visiting!
I've covered Jaisalmer in three parts, as there is so much to the city. This is Jaisalmer - Part 3, you can see part 1 here and part 2 here. We were now heading towards one of the best places to see not only in Rajasthan, but whole of India. But before that we stopped by at a deserted village Kuldhara, en route to Sam Sand Dunes.
As the legend goes, this village was abandoned overnight to save one of the village chief's daughter from an inter cast marriage. The village is told to be one of the most haunted places in India and it would take a lot of courage to spend a night here. For us, it was about an hour in the afternoon, but the eerie calm got on to us. We took a few pictures of what used to be the houses in the village which are now all broken and proceeded further.

Just in a few minutes we were at the Wind Desert Camp, which one of my close friends had recommended, and I would definitely recommend to you. The place has about 20 odd luxury tents very close to the Sand Dunes. The Desert Camel Safari is part of the stay and they also arrange for traditional Rajasthani Song & Dance in the night. Its a great place to relax in the evening with some drinks. Dinner & Breakfast is served as a buffet in a separate large tent and the owners took personal care of every traveler.
Sharp at 4:30, we left for Camel Safari, the camels were already waiting for us. It was a great experience riding on the camels for a fairly good distance to the dunes. We spent extra INR 200 to take our camel a bit further to enjoy the real dunes, they were absolutely mesmerizing. We took pictures of the sunset, while the shadow of camels and dunes made it a memorable experience. I'm definitely going back for this experience and of course all the shopping!!

After having enjoyed a great sunset, we came back to the camp and enjoyed rest of the evening with local artists performing followed by dinner.
We left the next day soon after breakfast to our next destination, Jodhpur.
