Dinosaur Theme Party for my 10 Year Old...
Sunny boy standing tall and proud. Oh how I am going to miss this innocent smiles.
Chocolate mousse covered with Oreo crumbs made for the pre historic dirt. Mini Dinos only added to the set up.
And for the herbivore healthy Dinos, there was Hervibore's grub which was Hummus served with veggie sticks.
Cranberry juice filled in milk bottle fitted with straws worked well for Dino Blood.
Photo frames from Ikea were used to segregate the food for herbivore, sweetivore and carnivore dinosaurs.
Dinosaur Theme Party for my 10 Year Old
It was my son's 10th Birthday a few days back and he was adamant to do a dinosaur theme party. With all the work happening at Whiskaffair, I was all game to back off but his pleas won over me and I started to prepare myself for the upcoming mammoth task.
Luckily we had a few stuff got back from the US which suited the theme very well and it really made my work a lot easier. Pinterest was my saviour and I got truck loads of ideas from it.
Sharing the birthday theme through pictures. I hope it will give you some more ideas to add on while planning a Dinosaur Theme Party.

A plaque made by son which we hanged outside the house on the tree. Got the idea from pinterest and the remains of foam sheets and felt sheets came useful while making this. Kiddo made sure he showed off some of his colouring skills on the plaque.
Dino Poop AKA our good old popcorns. Kids went crazy about the name and the recyclable planters made for a perfect container to serve the poop.

Dino shaped cookies were a hit with the kids. I got the cookie cutters from the US but if you don't have cookies cutters, you can always make your own template on a cardboard and use it to cut your cookies. The cookies were covered with Royal Icing in different colors. Here is a fantastic recipe to make Sugar cookies and Royal Icing.
Cranberry juice filled in milk bottle fitted with straws worked well for Dino Blood.

And the show stopper was this huge Jurassic Park Cake. 3 layers of Chocolate and Vanilla sponge covered with whipped cream frosting and chocolate fudge frosting and decorated with stone candies (A cousin got some for me from Japan, but you can make your own using fondant), Oreo cookies crumbs, thinned down royal icing for the lava and cleaned plastic toys made the cake a talking point. I got call from all the mothers whose kids came to the party as the went on and on about the party,, food, decoration and the cake.
Fun part was this Dino Photo booth. I got a few foam masks from the US and got a photo booth printed from Etsy. It kept boys busy for a good hour and they went crazy like dinosaurs in a jungle.
Another fun game which kids played was search the Dino Skeleton. I filled a box with 5 kg of rice and buried plastic Dino Skeleton parts inside. Kids had to take all the parts out in 1 minute. Who ever took out the most parts was the winner.
And finally the return gift bags. I hand stamped sandwich bags using a template made on thick plastic.
All this followed up with Pizza, Pasta and Soda lunch. The kids were a happy lot and so were we. Hope that you liked the ideas of the theme. Do drop me a comment if you want more info. Cheers!!!!
